Alright squad, let’s get one thing straight – Never ever wear a black suit to anything business related. Are you just entering the business world and only have a black suit? Go out and buy one in literally any other color (okay, well, maybe not LITERALLY, but you get the point). Black suits are reserved for Black Tie events, funerals, and horrible high-school prom photos. Let’s leave the black suits to those events.

Embrace the Navy Blues, the Grays, even the Browns (when done right). Hell, even throw some checkered suits into the mix and look real slick in the office (or on the course, if you want to be a reincarnation of Rodney Dangerfield). Diversify your wardrobe and bring some color into it – don’t fall into the arms of the dark side.

While a black suit is a classic and a wardrobe must, we have to make a collective effort to keep it out of the workplace. Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate a sharp black suit as much as the next person, but the days of old are just that – old. Let the modern suits, with their slim fits and skinny lapels, make their way into the professional world.
